Incoming President Carolyn Meyers’ holiday message for JSU students

December 6, 2010

Dear Students of Jackson State University:

Less than a week ago, I experienced the thrill of being named the President of Jackson State University.  As your President, I am privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of Jackson State, the Urban University of the State of Mississippi, with its illustrious history, exciting presence today and spectacular future.  I am honored to have the good fortune to become a part of your lives.

I look forward to getting to know you and to working with you as we go forward in January 2011.  In the meantime, study hard, do well on your final examinations, have fun over the holidays, and during this holiday season, I ask you to remember those who may not be as fortunate as we are, and show the Jackson State spirit of giving.

I wish you blessings and prosperity in the New Year.

Happy holidays!

Carolyn W. Meyers, Ph.D.

Incoming President
